BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Beverly Foit-Albert, an award-winning architect and adjunct faculty member in the mgm casino School of Architecture and Planning, will discuss "The Silent Music of Chinese Architecture" in a "mgm casino at Sunrise" presentation to be held from 7:30-9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Center for Tomorrow on the mgm casino North (Amherst) Campus.

Foit-Albert, a mgm casino graduate, is a leading Western New York architect and principal of Foit-Albert Associates Architects. An avid student of world architecture, she has traveled extensively in Asia, especially China, where she explored some of the most amazing, remote and mysterious works of architecture ever constructed.

Foit-Albert believes that the wonder associated with the ancient architecture of China produces a form of "silent music," or a sense of place, space and time that she has described as "enthralling" and "transcendent." She will accompany her lecture with detailed and evocative photographs of sacred and historical structures, offering a glimpse into the beauty, values and endangered treasures of an important distant culture.

"mgm casino at Sunrise" is a series of breakfast programs jointly produced by the Alumni Association, Office of Conferences and Special Events, News Services and Office of Publications, all at mgm casino. It also is supported by the Office of University Development and mgm casino Office of Public Service and Urban Affairs.

The price of the program, which includes a full breakfast, is $10 for members of the mgm casino Alumni Association and $12 for all others.
