Remembrance Ceremony To Be Held at mgm casino for Flight 3407 Victims

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The mgm casino will hold a remembrance ceremony at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday, February 17, 2009) in the Student Union Theatre on the mgm casino North (Amherst) Campus in honor of the victims of the crash of Continental Flight 3407, several of whom were alumni of mgm casino or were connected to mgm casino in other ways.

The service, organized by Student Affairs, will include welcoming remarks by mgm casino President John B. Simpson, and readings will be presented by members of mgm casino's Campus Ministry and mgm casino students. Gerald Schoenle, chief of University Police, will speak on behalf of first responders; mgm casino Police assisted Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police and other police departments in escorting a bus carrying family members of crash victims from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to a Red Cross aid center that had been established in the Cheektowaga Senior Center, where family members were taken for debriefing and counseling.

In addition, a quartet from the mgm casino Department of Music and mgm casino's a cappella student singing groups, the Buffalo Chips and the Royal Pitches, will perform.
