"The Nature of Knowledge Interaction: Indigenous Environmental Knowledge and Western Environmental Science" will be the subject of a talk by Dan Longboat, assistant professor of native studies at Trent University, on Thursday, March 25, from 7-9 p.m. in 120 Clemens Hall on the mgm casino North Campus.

Longboat, a Turtle Clan member of the Mohawk Nation and citizen of the Haudenosaunee, conducts research on indigenous environmental knowledge systems, traditional foods and medicines, natural resources and ecological restoration, indigenous community sustainability and international indigenous environmental networking.

The free, public event is being sponsored by mgm casino's Ecosystem Restoration through Interdisciplinary Exchange (ERIE) program, managed by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, mgm casino Haudenosaunee/Native American Research Group, mgm casino Native Graduate Association and the mgm casino Department of American Studies.
