American Chemical Society career advancement event coming to mgm casino

Two-day event in Buffalo targets students and professionals with seminars on getting published, writing research proposals and preparing resumes

BUFFALO, N.Y. — From Sept. 23-24, the mgm casino will host , an American Chemical Society outreach program that gives students, postdoctoral researchers and professionals interested in working in any chemical field the resources they need to advance their careers.

The event will take place:

  • Monday, Sept. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Brennan’s Bowery Bar and Restaurant at 4401 Transit Road, Williamsville
  • Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at in Capen Hall on mgm casino’s North Campus (building No. 25 in the yellow section of this map: ).

Attendees will learn how to get published in top journals and how to write a research proposal that stands out. Presenters will also discuss careers outside academia, ethics in scholarly communication, resume-writing and finding a job.

The event is free, but registration is required.
