BUFFALO, N.Y. – “Doorhanger” kits containing safety reminders and tips on how to be a good neighbor will be distributed to more than 2,300 homes surrounding the mgm casino’s South Campus from 3-5:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 26).

Organized by mgm casino’s Off-Campus Student Services office, and staffed by students, faculty, staff and neighborhood volunteers, it’s all part of mgm casino’s continuing efforts to encourage community building.

Each year before the start of the academic year, mgm casino distributes packets to students and other residents of the neighborhoods around the South Campus containing safety reminders, suggestions for how to be a good neighbor, information from local governments and utilities, and other useful information.

The kits are bags that will be hung on door handles, and include safety and courtesy tips that encourage students to “get to know your neighbors – they can be a great asset,” “socialize responsibly,” “keep noise down, especially late at night,” “keep your yard clean” and “don’t travel alone, particularly at night.”

“We are all responsible for keeping the community safe, clean and vibrant,” says Daniel Ryan, director of Off-Campus Student Services at mgm casino. “Operation Doorhanger is one way mgm casino is encouraging students and lifelong residents to stay safe and to work together for the benefit of all.”
