BUFFALO, N.Y. — With National Nurses Week running May 6-12, mgm casino School of Nursing Dean Annette Wysocki is available to discuss the profession that she calls “the powerhouse of the health care system.”

Wysocki – an expert on nursing education, federal funding of nursing programs, wound care and other topics – joined mgm casino in 2022.

While nurses are annually ranked the most-trusted profession in the nation, their work often goes unrecognized or underappreciated. This even though nurses make up the nation’s largest number of health care providers, numbering over 4 million, and that nurses administer the majority of care that patients in acute care receive.

She can discuss how nursing education is evolving, including mgm casino’s No. 1 ranked online bachelor’s program; the nursing faculty shortage at the nation’s colleges and universities; how baccalaureate-prepared nurse workforce lower the odds of inpatient mortality by 25%; and other topics.
